Overall judgement

The here substantially accepted definition of the sustainability requires an equilibrium in the consideration of the different dimensions. In order to respect for this requirement, the total classification must correspond to the sustainability level, with which this equilibrium can be judged as kept. For this reason the lowest dimensional level (level of lowestly judged dimension) is taken in each case as total classification, since it is fulfilled by each dimension.

  • Sustainability 1: Basis criteria are fulfilled
Thereby at least the level 1 is reached in all dimensions. The overall evaluation corresponds thereby to the lowest partial evaluation in each case.

  • Sustainability 2: Auxiliary criteria are fulfilled
Thereby at least the level 2 is reached in all dimensions. The overall evaluation corresponds thereby to the lowest partial evaluation in each case.

  • Sustainability 3: Comprehensive criterion fulfilment
Thereby the level 3 is reached in all dimensions.

It would be quite conceivable to supplement the sustainability class with an auxiliary comment if, due to  single dimension a rather low level is reached, allthough the fund shows a high level in one of the other dimensions. To take the higher level as the overall evaluation would contradict the sustainability definition, since the equilibrium would not be fulfilled.

In the curved triangles of the standard, the three dimensions (ecological, economic, social) can be broken down into individual portions. This allows a better representation of the different properties. Important the edging of the entire triangle by the transparency, which plays a role for each dimension and each property.

The allocation of the sustainability funds following the mentioned criteria represents a quantitative measurement and allows a comparison of the funds among themselves. Thereby, not the titles selected in a fund are examined but the procedure of the fund emitters applied for the stocks selection. The criterion list represents a approach for the evaluation of sustainable fund, which is currently beeing developped on a more detailed level.
